The first Career Process Assessment Meeting was held by Sabancı University. Held on the 8th of February, the meeting provided an opportunity to assess career processes and share best practices.
Career consultants from 13 private universities (Arel, Bahçeşehir, Bilgi, Bilkent, Doğuş, Fatih, Istanbul Commerce, Koç, Maltepe, Okan, Özyeğin and Yeditepe) and 1 state university (Istanbul Technical University) attended the meeting.
The discussions provided a chance to establish a strong network among the career centers of universities, and details were shared about the career center structures of various universities and their future plans.
Sabancı University Career Office Director Şule Yalçın commented that the attending universities viewed Sabancı University’s hosting the event favorably, and said that the following action points were established as a result of the meeting:
1. Gaining insight into different career service offerings;
2. Establishing the common issues and proposing solutions;
3. Determining alternative communication methods to share career services with different stakeholders;
4. Gathering knowledge about career courses given in some universities and implementing similar programs;
5. Involving different stakeholders every year and continuing to share best practices to ensure the sustainability of the event;
6. Establishing newsgroups / online forums among career centers to share recent developments and discuss issues in an open environment.
